LI, Tsz Mei Cara

The recipient of the Undergraduate Research Fellowship Programme (URFP) 2018-19

 

Cara Li is a final-year undergraduate student majoring in speech and hearing sciences at the University of Hong Kong. She has gained clinical experience in different settings, such as local kindergartens, NGOs, hospitals, and community rehabilitation centers. Moreover, she provided speech therapy service and caregiver training for children with cerebral palsy in Wuhan, China, during summer 2018. With a strong interest in working with children with special educational needs (SEN), her dissertation project focuses on reading comprehension among individuals with high-functioning autism (HFA).

 

 

 

 

 

 

SO, Kwan Wah Maegan

 

Maegan So is a final-year undergraduate student in the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences at The University of Hong Kong. Her dissertation project focuses on Cantonese infants’ perception of non-native English lexical stress. She is currently working in our infant speech perception laboratory, where she runs tests on Cantonese infants. She has gained speech and language clinical experience at various sites, such as kindergartens, international schools, hospitals, elderly day care centres and community rehabilitation centres.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WONG, On On Ann

The recipient of the Undergraduate Research Fellowship Programme (URFP) 2018-19

 

Ann is a final-year undergraduate student majoring in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Hong Kong. Her dissertation project focuses on the literacy development of ethnic minorities children in Hong Kong. With passion for helping children to integrate into society and raising their confidence, Ann hopes that her research will provide a more holistic understanding of language development of ethnic minorities children, which allows effective assessment and intervention planning for this population.

 

 

 

 

 

WONG, Si Ho Elmo

Elmo Wong is a final-year undergraduate student in the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences at The University of Hong Kong. Her dissertation project focuses on comprehension monitoring among bilingual comprehenders in Hong Kong, which will contribute to the planning of intervention for children with poor reading comprehension.
